Sianok Canyon or “Silent” Canyon constitutes the green lush real beauty of valley, flew on the bottom a zigzag small river under the colored-cliff with the background of Mt. Singgalang and Mt. Merapi. It is a pleasant nature in the world. The beauty of canyon quite frequent taken by visitors as an object of the pictures and as a sign of imagination by certain painters.
Sianok Canyon spreads out from South Koto Gadang Village to the North Sianok Village, tortuously going on to Palupuh with 15 kms long, 100-129 m high and 200 m wide. Trekking through the path in the canyon is quite interesting recreation. It takes 45 minutes to get to Koto Gadang across the canyon as the birthplace of some Indonesian’s leaders , such as Haji Agus Salim and Emil Salim, and takes 60 minutes to get to Sianok Village in the Northward and going to Sungai Janiah Village.
